Growing Connections–Adult Education Offerings

Sundays 9:15am in the Parlor

What’s a body without wisdom and intelligence? Growing Connections is our ministry of learning   opportunities for adults.  We seek to grow in relationship, wisdom, and understanding – all of the connections that enable us to know Christ more fully and discover our mission in the world.  Growing Connections opportunities will focus upon learning about our relationships and how we grow in faith as well as mission opportunities.

We are “Christians, Serving, Learning and Loving.”  This is an opportunity to grow humbly in faith as we learn more about ourselves, how Christ is reaching out to the world, and how we may use our gifts as the Body of Christ.

February

18 Session Forum  Monthly a time will be set aside to review recent action by the church session, discuss the work of the church, and share vision for where Christ is taking First Presbyterian Church in the future. The forum will be hosted by the Elder of the Month. These forums are an opportunity to seek to gather as “Christians, Serving, Learning and Loving.”

25 Different Walks, Different Talks  The Church Life Team is excited to present a new opportunity to get to
know each other better. Church members are invited to share a unique experience, a special passion or anything that has had an impact on their Christian walk. The possibilities are many. Carol Wetzel will be the presenter on February 25.  Carol will share her story about being a Social Worker/Substance Abuse Counselor in the Wisconsin State Prison System for over 20 years.  If you are interested or have any suggestions, please contact Carol Smith or Kay Mullins.

March

4 Outreach Team  What does reaching out in love mean? How do we do the reaching out? Microloans in very poor countries! Loaves and Fishes dinners for the hungry! Care INC support for the most vulnerable people in our community! What’s next that will ignite a fire in our souls, inspire us to action and attract others to something that is bigger than themselves? If you are part of one of these teams we hope you can be there and relate your experience with that team. If you are not part of one of those groups we hope you will come and consider being part of one or maybe something new that will inspire you and others. We hope you will join us for a great discussion and a little fun.
