Sermon: “Worth Working For”
Theme: We need to spend time dwelling in the lessons that God provides us, and to allow our minds to be changed by the instruction of God.
Purpose: We will consider how we focus our minds and how to use parables as a means to shape our thinking.
Scriptures: Psalm 142 Crying out to the Lord, our refuge.
Matthew 13:10-17 The disciples ask why Jesus speaks in parables. Blessed are those who hear the word of God.
What do we focus our attention and our minds upon during the day? In what ways do we allow our minds to dwell on what is destructive and meaningless? How do we instead allow God to work on the renewing of our minds? How do we allow our fears and worries to be transformed into peace and confidence? What do we need to learn in order to dwell in God joy and grace?
