Friendship

There are opportunities for young and old to develop friendships at First Presbyterian Church.

Coffee Hour on Sunday Mornings

All are invited to “Coffee Hour” on Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall between 9:00 and 10:30.  It is a great opportunity to meet people.  This time overlaps the education hour which is generally 9:15-10:15.  Education programs also afford opportunities to develop friendships.  Young parents have opportunities to learn and share together.  These friendships sometimes spill over into the playground while the children play after church and parents visit.

Presbyterian Youth

PYA (Presbyterian Youth Association) is an opportunity for friendships to develop between middle school and high school youth. It gives the youth an open and accepting environment where youth feel comfortable asking the hard questions about faith and life. Youth challenge each other and learn to grow in their faith together. The youth meet most Sundays from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Youth room. Check the Newsletter for current PYA activities, service projects, events, and other opportunities for youth or contact Joe Halfman, Youth Director for more information. Email: jhalfman@tds.net

Young Families

The Young Families Ministry was started in June 2007 with the purpose of creating opportunities for the young families of our church to get to know one another and do some sharing about the joys and challenges of parenting.  The group typically meets monthly, offering both family and "adult-only" activities such as game nights, outdoor movies, service projects, bowling, camping, etc.  The Young Families group also meets during the education hour on Sunday mornings, sharing and learning through participation in parenting education curriculum.  Contact Kim Braatz (921-2259) for more information.

Saturday Morning Men of Faith

Men of the church meet the first Saturday of the month at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast fellowship and discussion of topics of interest.   All are welcome.  If possible sign up in fellowship hall the week before so the host knows how many to prepare breakfast for.  Call Lew Smith (924-6034) for more information.

Men’s Night Out

Men are invited to get together for fellowship, music, games, pool, etc on the third Saturday night of every month at 7:00 pm in the youth room.  This is a great opportunity to get to know each other better and to find out what God is doing in our lives.  Contact Dan Zemski (922-9647) or Lyle Dorn (926-0233) for more information.

                                                                      PW (Presbyterian Women)
Presbyterian Women, is a group of Christian women who come together to share their faith.  PW hosts Wednesday noon luncheons several times a year.  PW has a Mission Sewing Group. PW is part of the ecumenical group Church Women United.  Smaller groups called "Circles" are open to all women.  The circles meet once a month for Bible Study. If you would like more information about the PW, please contact:  Jean Morgan 922-5250.

Women In Faith
A friend is someone who reaches for your hand, but touches your heart.

Women in Faith extend an invitation to join them for fun and fellowship.  Women in Faith meet one evening a month from 6:00-8:00 pm.  A light supper is shared together followed by a fun time of fellowship, devotions and crafts or games.  Bring a dish to pass if you can - or just bring yourself  -  or invite a friend to come along.  Women in Faith is open to women of all ages and everyone is welcome.  Contact Jennifer Zander at the church office with any questions (922-0425).

Cribbage Anyone?

Presbyterians and their friends gather for an evening of cribbage and fellowship, generally on the third Friday night of the month.  Anyone is welcome – even if you don’t yet know how to play Cribbage.  Contact Bob Binning  (921-7320) to be placed on the list to receive notice of meetings.

Church Softball League
Each summer First Presbyterian fields a team of enthusiastic men and women to play in the Fond du Lac YMCA Co-Ed Church Softball League.  It's an opportunity for fun, fellowship, and a little competition.  Games are played Monday evenings at 6 and 7 pm.  Consider joining the team (open to all men and women ages 16 and older) or come and cheer the team on.  For more information, contact Lyle Dorn at 926-0233.

Friends of the Kirk Covenant Group

The Friends of the Kirk Covenant Group meets once a month at the home of a member.  The group does local missions and meets one afternoon a month to make baby quilts for the Family Resource Center, Solutions Center and other family oriented organizations.  Contact Edi Moore  (922-1767) or Peg Dvorak (923-1070) for more information.

Train Buffs

A group of model train enthusiasts has planned Model Train Shows and enjoyed other excursions centered on their interest of model trains.  The 2009 Model Train Show was a fun place to be.  The sound of trains on track, many kinds of model trains to see, and smiles on faces of young and old was great to behold.  Contact Jim Dvorak (923-1070) for more information.
